When Frank passed I inherited his entire archive of work dating back to the 1960s. His son Tim shipped a huge number of packages which included hundreds of cassettes, video and paperwork. The challenge is that most of this material is not in a digital format and a lot of it is in NTSC digital 8 tape format. If you think you can easily pick up a unit that will play back such material, good luck with that!
Fortunately I found a company that specializes in all manner of digital transfers including reel to reel. Eighteen months ago I started funding these transfers and we already have the first 40 hours of material, BUT this is a massive task. Not only is there a massive time investment, but there is also a substantial financial investment to make this possible. Rather than go down a “go fund me” or “kickstarter” initiative I decided to set up the PCW Development platform where I give people 1 – 1 time on Skype or Zoom in exploring the provocative approach in communication. The money from this funds the digital transfers and in return as a bonus many on the platform get access to the archive.
I have made this as affordable as I can and details on the platform are here
I am keen that we make this material available to those who have a genuine interest in Frank’s work and as more people join the platform we can accelerate this digital transfer process.
