When I first met Frank Farrelly over two decades ago, I was amazed at how few opportunities there were to train in his work. I joked about how it was ‘the world’s best kept secret” Yes, he has a few enthusiastic hosts for his workshops, but this for the most part resulted in a few annual workshops in parts of Europe and nothing further afield.

Worse still, there were virtually no materials available, even though Frank had a huge archive of material dating back to the 1970s. Nobody seemed to focus on how to bring Provocative Therapy to a wider public. My concern was that his work would disappear from sight once he passed and there was no easy way in which the wider public and other professionals could find out about his approach.

Frank’s express wishes for “Provocative Therapy” and quality control

Frank was very insistant that he didn’t want certifications in provocative therapy and had to slap down some European hosts who seemed enthusiastic about such a path. Unfortunately the same kind of status seeking still happens today and this has led to me withdrawing from running any trainings in certain European countries! Frank and I talked for many hours about the expansion of provocative trainings across the globe and he was very supportive of me in developing the PCW model. Provocative Change Works has students in many countries throughout USA, Asia, and Europe.

Many of these countries meet on a monthly basis in the ongoing PCW trainings. Countries involved in these live trainings include USA, Canada, Croatia, Russia, Spain, India, Japan, Luxembourg, France, UK, Germany and Ireland among others. Frank expressley left his archive of work to me when he passed with the following written statement a few years earlier.

This was good judgement as since his passing all manner of people have emerged who imagine they have endorsements to teach his classic work, most of which I have never heard Frank mention in hundreds of interactions!
